The School Leaders Network™ is an Indian-based, independent professional network of School Leaders working with primary, secondary and higher secondary schools. The School Leaders Network™ aims to be a National Resource and Network of School Trustees, Correspondents, Management representatives, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers and Principals focused on school improvement, development and strategy. The Network will provide year-round opportunities for school leaders to pair with each other on the same journey of building and sustaining quality driven schools and communities. The Network is dedicated to promote & develop collaboration among schools and to support them to drive continuous improvement through the establishment of school development committees. We envision a world where Schools would share their experiences; moving away from working in isolation. They would aim to partner with schools and school networks; both nationally and worldwide.

Mr. Francis Joseph

Mr. Francis Joseph has more than 20 years of Management experience in School Education; in areas that include School Operations, Human Resource, Technology, Organizational Development and Strategy Planning.

He has extensively worked in establishing and managing schools for one of India’s Largest Singly owned/managed & non-franchised Educational group as its COO in India & Middle East (till year 2011), from where he started as a Teacher in year 1993. He was also instrumental in developing many technological initiatives and revolutionary practices in Schools, both in India and abroad. Francis is also a recipient of the "Limca Book of Record" (Edition 2013) for managing the fastest School admission process (10 days) in the country; which was also appreciated by the HRD Minister of State, Government of India and then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri. Narendra Modi.

Francis Joseph has established and operated several prestigious schools in India and Middle East; pursuing curricula of Indian and International Boards. Francis was also selected as an emerging edupreneur in India (year 2013) for an incubator programme conducted by the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund (U.K.) for his efforts in affordable and low-cost education in smaller towns and villages. Francis is also associated with the Archdiocesan Board of Education (Mumbai) and CfBT India in their school development projects. Francis is the Vice-President of Early Childhood Association (India), a private NGO in early childhood care and education with members from all across the country. His core strengths are high-level networking, communication skills, people management, technology enabler, service oriented, grass-root level experience in establishing schools and developing strategy related to perception building, marketing and scalability.

Our Mentors

Ms. Farzana Dohadwala

Ms. Farzana has over 30 years of experience in the education industry delivering National Curriculum – ICSE, NIOS and International Baccalaureate (IB). She was the Regional representative for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organisation for South Asia from 1995 till August 2011. She is currently IB advisor for South Asia. She is the member of ICSE Schools association in Maharashtra and member of IB India Development Board. She has also counselled various students doing the IB programs and has helped new schools in the implementation of the IB programs. She manages the D Y Patil International Schools and Faziliani Globale Academy.

Dr. Swaroop Sampat Rawal

Dr. Swaroop Sampat Rawal, Miss India 1979, is an accomplished actress & educationist. She is a member to the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) - the highest advisory body to guide Centre and State governments on education. Dr. Swaroop is on the committee for National Vocational Educational Qualification Framework of AICTE & Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. She is a Consultant for UNICEF in Gujarat for facilitator-training and teacher-training for Life Skills enhancement programs for Children and Adolescents. She also conducts teacher-training sessions for Gujarat Council for Educational Research and Training. She is a Council member of AICTE and is a faculty in various schools and colleges in Mumbai. She is author of the book ‘Learning Disabilities in a Nutshell’ and has published and presented various papers.

Mr. Sujay Jairaj

A fourth generation scion of the Narsee Monjee family, Mr. Sujay Jairaj is passionate about creating an environment that accentuates the innate potential of every student. He is the trustee of Narsee Monjee Educational Trust's Jamnabai Narsee School, Juhu, Mumbai. He holds a Masters degree in International Management from University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom and Bachelors of Management Studies.

Mr. Ashok Pandey

Mr. Ashok Pandey, is working in the School sector for the past three decades. He did Masters in Physics from Allahabad University and in Consultancy Management from BITS, Pilani. The Ahlcon International School that Mr. Pandey heads for the past 13 years is ranked among the best Schools in the country. Currently he is serving a two year term as Chairman, National Progressive Schools’ Conference (NPSC). He has worked, in the past, with Mayo College, Ajmer, Delhi Public School, Jammu and Indian Embassy School, Saudi Arabia, among others.

Recipient of ‘National Award for Teacher’ (2012) and ‘CBSE Award’ (2009) for his contribution in education, Mr. Pandey has keen interest in School transformation, professional development of teachers, technology integration, global peace and climate change. Widely travelled to Germany, Singapore, Sri Lanka, UAE, Thailand, Vietnam and Tanzania, he has led Principals’ delegations to the University of Malta in Europe, University of Rice in Houston, USA and to the Institute of Leadership, Nottingham, UK.

Mr. Premchand Palety

Mr.Premchand Palety is the chief executive of C fore, a multidisciplinary research organisation. It specializes in election surveys, market research, opinion polls and performance appraisal of educational institutions. He has vast experience in market research, opinion research and performance appraisal studies related to public utilities at national level and has pioneered school ranking in India.
For over a decade he has been writing on management education. His articles have been published in The Wall Street Journal, Mint, Outlook, Business Today, Hindustan Times and Economic Times. He's been a columnist for Mint and a contributing editor of The Wall Street Journal.
He has also been the member of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) where he contributed in revamping the accreditation methodology of higher educational institutions in India.

Ms. ElsaMarie D’Silva

Ms. ElsaMarie D’Silva is currently the Managing Director and co-founder of Safecity which is a platform that documents sexual harassment and abuse in public spaces. She has won the Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Dusan Stojanovic (European Angel Investor 2013), the Digital Women Award in Social Impact by She The People and is listed in BBC Hindi 100 women She represented Safecity at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 in San Francisco, an initiative of President Obama and the Fast FWD accelerator programme 2013 that was an initiative of the City of Philadelphia, USA as part of the Bloomberg’s Mayors Challenge.

She is a U. S. Department of State Fortune Mentee (2016), Rotary Peace Fellow (2016), an Aspen New Voices Fellow (2015), a Vital Voices Lead Fellow (2014) and an alumni of the Swedish Institute (2012). She is also a trained counsellor in both the Robert Carkhuff method of counselling and the Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) method. She has so far conducted workshops on sexual harassment awareness for over 3000 people ranging from 6 - 60 years of age in India and the U.S. Prior to Safecity, she was in the aviation industry for 20 years where she worked with Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines. Her last portfolio was Vice President Network Planning & Charters where she oversaw the planning and implementation of 500 daily flights. She also represented Kingfisher Airlines at the Ministry of Civil Aviation with regards to bilaterals and other planning related matters. She was also the Presiding Officer of the Internal Complaints Committee at Kingfisher Airlines.

Mr. GVS Prasad

Mr. GVSP Prasad is the Executive Director of CfBT India. CfBT, now known as Education Development Trust is a not-for-profit international education organization headquartered in U.K., with activities in more than 40 countries. They have specialist expertise in the capacity building, reform of school systems, including the use of external evaluation. Their clients include intergovernmental bodies such as the World Bank and EU, major donors such as UNICEF, DFID and USAID, and government bodies e.g. in the UK and UAE. They are an international expert on school evaluation. They work with government agencies in the UK, India, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Thailand, Jamaica and South Africa.

Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran

Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran is FIFA’s Regional Development Officer (South and Central Asia), who manages all projects, programmes and activities of FIFA in the region. He was also the Director Vision & National Teams & Youth (Head of Football Development) for All India Football Federation - (year 2004-2009)).

Dr. Reni Francis

Dr. Reni Francis is a Ph.D degree holder in Education from the Mumbai University for her thesis on the “Multiple Intelligences approach to Curriculum transaction”. She has a varied experience of more than 15 years in facilitating learning with school students, teachers and teacher educators in India and Kuwait. Reni has presented several research papers in various National and International conferences & seminars and has received several research grants from the Mumbai University.

Dr. Reni Francis has authored 2 Teacher Handbooks known as “Blooming with Multiple Intelligences” and “Constructing Creative Minds” and a series of Teacher resources for Chetana Publication - Nine Hats, for the subject English, Grade 1 to 8. She has also authored the book "Redesigning Learning Horizons through Multiple Intelligence Approach". Dr. Reni Francis is the Editor of an International Journal of Education TRANSACADEMIA – ISSN: 2319-3492. She is an Editorial Board Member in several international research journals and has also authored several modules for Mumbai University’s Institute for Distance and Open Learning. Dr. Reni has successfully completed several professional courses from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and has also authored a chapter on the Indian education system for a Book of Knowledge for Politicians published by the D.Y. Patil group. She is an Assistant professor at the Pillai College of Education & Research, Mumbai.

Ms. Priya Samant

Ms. Priya Samant is founder of Earthfrendz, an artisan and education focused social enterprise based in United States. She grew up in Mumbai, India and came to United States in year 2000 to work as a consultant in the field of software and technology. In 2009, she founded EarthFrendz. In founding Earthfrendz, her aim is to create self-empowerment and socio- economic development for urban poor in India and to educate youth's in United States about social entrepreneurship. Priya is author of the manifesto "She is a woman just like you". She is a 2015 Frontier Market Scouts Fellow. She was nominated as The Aspen Institute Scholar and invited for the launch of the global artisan campaign launched at the US State Department on September 10th, 2015.
